New Candle Stand Brings Stylistic Synchronicity to Church of the Advocate

The Outreach Committee of Holy Cross, Tryon donated a new Pascal candle stand to the Church of the Advocate on Aug. 22.

The team learned from the Church of the Advocate that they needed an improved Paschal candle stand. The issue was that the Church of the Advocate’s existing Paschal stand was a very heavy, black metal gothic-type of stand that was difficult to move and did not resonate with the clean natural wood altar that was used for services.

They turned to Holy Cross woodworking craftsman, Ben Davis, who readily said ‘Yes, I’ll see what I can do.’ Ben crafted a handsome Paschal candle stand out of fiery red oak, salvaged from another earlier project. A candle holder sleeve was ordered, and a most beautiful Paschal stand was produced!

Fr. Robert Ard blessed the Paschal stand at the 8/20/23 Eucharist service, with Ben and Craig Williams, always a steadfast supporter of the Church of the Advocate, in attendance.

The Paschal Stand was delivered to the Church of the Advocate on 8/22/23.
