A major focus of the diocesan recovery efforts is Bat Cave, a town particularly devastated by Helene. Church of the Transfiguration, led by Fr. John Roberts, in partnership with our Disaster Response and Recovery Team has generously offered some of its land to become a community hub and resource center. They now have an outdoor kitchen, tool library, and storage for construction equipment available and used daily by the community.

On Saturday, June 21st, Bat Cave Disaster Relief threw a community fish fry hosted on the church property. Saplings, flowers, and various plants were given by Lake Logan and Painter's Greenhouse. Volunteers planted, cooked food, and played music. Many gathered to celebrate life returning to the Bat Cave community.
